The form asks for floor plans, the number of bedrooms or people using the fixtures and the proposed system components. Its site-plan checklist covers boundaries, buildings, waterways, dams, driveways, stormwater features and existing wastewater systems.
Provide the latest available layout. If the design is preliminary, identify the proposed use, likely building footprint, bedrooms or occupancy, and any known site constraints.
Council administers the approval and monitoring pathway
Hume’s Environmental Health Officers administer the approval and monitoring of onsite wastewater systems. The LCA supports the permit application alongside the proposed system plans and the Certificate of Conformance for Onsite Wastewater System.
Keep the endorsed plans and permit conditions with the project. These documents guide the system designer, plumber and any later alteration to the approved arrangement.
Check sewer servicing for the exact address
Different parts of Hume may involve Greater Western Water or Yarra Valley Water. Identify the responsible authority and obtain property-specific advice rather than relying on a nearby sewer line or a suburb name.
Where connection status is uncertain, resolve it before committing to an onsite wastewater design or fixing the building layout around a proposed land application area.
