Meet our team

Sam is the founding director of Yarra Geotechnics and brings approximately 20 years of geotechnical engineering experience. He leads the company’s technical work in geotechnical assessment, interpretive reporting, analysis and design. His role includes technical oversight and review, with a focus on understanding ground conditions and developing practical recommendations suited to each project. He also guides the business and maintains relationships with clients and project partners.

Yarra Geotechnics collaborates with AH Engineering Pty Ltd, an independent consultancy specialising in pavement and rail formation engineering. Dr Hossein Asadi brings more than 23 years of engineering experience across government, consultancy, construction and research, including senior technical design and advisory roles with Transport for NSW and leading engineering consultancies. His expertise covers flexible, rigid and composite pavement design, rehabilitation, heavy-duty pavements, FWD assessment, technical assurance, and rail formation design, including ballasted and ballastless track systems and transition zones for metro and heavy-haul railways.

Kimia supports the business systems behind project delivery. Her work covers process improvement, workflow organisation, documentation and risk management. She also contributes to the company’s work towards compliance with International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standards through internal audits, document control and follow-up actions. This helps the team maintain organised records and consistent processes.
